“When you get asked to do something out of your comfort zone, you must say ‘YES’.”
That has certainly been my mantra for everything that I do, and it played a large role in this story. It all started when I hear that a few friends were going to a conference called “The Rain Makers Mindset”, interested in the prospect of meeting new people, I said Perfect. The day arrived and I met with my friends at the conference, and as it started the host threw in an exercise of magical chairs. By Making everyone sit in different chair away from who they were there with. This exercise made me feel a bit uncomfortable, but I said YES, I have to do it. Searching for tables I finally found one, with a few empty chairs.
As first speaker began talking, half way through walks in a gentlemen and sits right next to me. By the end of the first intermission between speakers, I had introduced myself to Al Getler, and we exchanged cards.
Fast forward a few months, Al was starting a community called “Lead or Be Led”. It explores leadership through the lens of people, the marketplace, branding and social media. He then asked me to do a few segments with him on branding. Knowing that it wasn’t completely in my comfort zone, I said yes.
This is my first segment. I have several other segments that will be follow up to this first one.
